The St Andrews University Staff & Postgraduate Cricket Club provides the opportunity for staff, students, and the wider St Andrews community, to participate in competitive and friendly cricket throughout the spring and summer of each year.
We always welcome players of any age and experience and encourage you to come along to one of our training sessions. Whether you are a first time player, someone who has been away from the game for a while, or a seasoned pro, we have something to suit you. From mid-April through until late-September we play a combination of midweek friendly 20-over fixtures, perfect for the casual player, and league matches for the more competitive players. We also hold regular outdoor net sessions and fielding practices during the summer, and indoor training over the winter.
Of course, the club is about more than just the cricket to us. After the games (or sometimes, if it is a particularly rainy day, during the games) you are likely to find us socialising in the ”pavilion” (read: The Whey Pat). It is here that we are likely to regale you with stories of past legendary comedic moments and glories, such as how we won the Strathmore & Perthshire Cricket Union League Division 3 in our first season of league cricket (2011), or the finer details of the ongoing saga “Crooks vs Celestial Bodies”.
Should you wish to get involved or find out more, we’d be delighted to welcome you along to one of our training sessions. You can also contact us via email, visit our Facebook page, follow us on Twitter or get the latest updates on our games on social media. We look forward to you joining us.
